Mastercard, MTB and Banglalink to Launch A First-of-Its-Kind Prepaid Card (Amar Prothom Easy Payment card) – A Joint Contribution towards Bangladesh’s Digital Growth

Selected Banglalink customers to get Lifetime-Free Prepaid cards for nationwide use, along with an electronic payment facility specially designed to bank the unbanked customers

 

Dhaka, Bangladesh, May 24, 2017 - Mastercard, Mutual Trust Bank (MTB) and Banglalink today announce a partnership to launch an innovative first-of-its-kind Prepaid Card named “Easy Payment Card”, in a move poised to bring millions within the banked arena. The upcoming arrival of the Easy Payment Card was announced at a press conference held today at The Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka. The press conference was attended by M A Mannan MP, Honorable State Minister of Finance and Planning, People's Republic of Bangladesh, of Zunaid Ahmed Palak MP, Honorable State Minister for ICT, People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Subhankar Saha, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank, Dr. Shahajahan Mahmood, Chairman, BTRC and high officials of central bank and Bangladesh Telecom Regulatory Commission, along with top officials from all three organizations and members of the media.
